With reference to the 2nd paragraph of my despatch No.299 of 22nd June, 1927, proposing certain amendments in the Widows' and Orphans' Pension Ordinance,
I have the honour to transmit copies of the correspondence

Crown Agents to Colonial Secretary. Letter (undated) from Mrs. Jean Kennedy to Colonial Treasurer, Hong Kong.
noted in the margin containing
a concrete case of the
hardship caused by the present
18-years age limit for the pensions of sons.
Pending the amendment of the law, this
Government has had no option but to refuse the application
for extension in the case of the late Mr. A. L. B. Gordon's
sons.
